|| It’s Not Fair ||
It's not fair—
That you're still unable to share
The torment you had to bear.
How that pure evil with flair,
With his calculated, manipulative care,
Yanked your hair,
Forced you to gasp for air,
Loaded you with shame and trapped you in his snare.
It's not fair—
That you still wake up with a scare,
Still shrink beneath his penetrating glare,
Still weep into a private despair,
Still unable to lay yourself bare,
Still relive it when choosing what to wear,
How did he dare?
It's not fair—
But breathe in. You're safe now.
You're not carrying this alone anymore.
Every little piece of you we will restore.
It's not fair—
That this body must wordlessly explain
The years of brutal pain it had to contain,
But I'm not the one who should carry the mark of Cain.
It was not fair.
But never again.
This, to myself, I swear.
