|| Questioning ||

If I wake without a fire,
Without a dream I want to chase,
Does it mean I’ve been a liar
Too weak to admit it to my face?

If the songs don’t come together,
If the words don’t leave my mind,
Am I still somebody worthy
Even when I fall behind?

If I pull away from my ambition,
If I let the heavy curtains fall,
Does it mean I'm giving up
Or that I never cared at all?

If I don’t pick up the pieces,
If I leave them right where they are,
Does it mean I’ve finally lost it
And that I’ve pushed myself too far?

Who am I beneath the layers,
Under all the noise and endless labels?
Am I broken?
Is something wrong?
How do I find where I belong?

Who am I under my skin?
Where do you end and I begin?
If I lose myself inside my shame,
Will you love me just the same?
